Special Education

The Special Education Department at Scituate High/Middle School has a staff of eight resource/classroom teachers complimented by language therapists, social worker, psychologist and adaptive physical education personnel. At present, over one hundred twenty students are entitled to special services. The goal of teachers in this department is to maximize the student’s strength while working to improve his weakness. Ultimately, the student should develop independence and self-reliance as he matures and prepares for further education or the world of work.
